Hi,

I'm new to this to so I don't have much suggestions at this point, other than to say it does get better.  I'm at the pureed stage and have trouble getting in all the liquids.  I'm having trouble sleeping at night so, I have been napping and I get behing in my liquids.

Welcome and good luck.

Congrats and welcome to the MN board!
I know a bunch of people are against protien shakes, but at this stage it is good to get in protien however you can, of course go by what your doc says though!

I was at Wal Mart yesterday and picked up one of those "Protein Shots" that people sometimes talk about.  If you HAVE to drink something to get the protein in, you might as well suffer through one of those.  I bought two at $1.97 each - 110 calories and 26g of protein.  It was gross but it was good to have in a pinch (went to the MN Twins game this afternoon and brought it in my purse.  YUCK but better than any of the crap the vendors were selling!!!)

Welcome and congrats being off to a great start.  I'm thisclose to three years out and occasisionally carry a Protein Shot as a back up just  'in case'.  They're more palatable well chilled, although you may not be quite ready for chilled.  Just a suggestion.  Cub Foods sells whey protein jugs, offering 25 g protein in one scoop.  Comes in Vanilla Ice Cream flavor, which I add to s/f  chocolate fudge or vanilla pudding.  I've found variety is highly beneficial toward long-term success, which I wish for you!  Hopefully focusing on the big picture will minimize the unplesantries one must surpass along the way!  I utilized extract flavorings at the beginning as awwll:  adding pemmermint to chocolate or vanilla CIB, adding lemon or almond to vanilla, Be creative and let your palat savor quality.  Add spice powders to broths and strained cream soups.  One of my faves was adding poultry seasoning to chicken broth or creame of--just my two cents.  Take care!
